Like pretty much every other person here, I browse classifieds for cars. Unlike pretty much no one else, I browse foreign classifieds as well. My question today is, if you could import one car from another country, what would you choose? I’d obviously have to choose a Citroen, but after that it’s pretty much a toss - up. I’d have to choose an Ami, purely because it’s so rare, and my fondness for them has !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! What car would you buy off of Goo -Net, AutoScout24, Gumtree, or Classic Cars for Sale UK, Oppo?

Suzulight Fronte. Ideally, if one could even be found for sale. I saw one a few years ago on Goo and it was pricey despite being in dilapitated condition.

Basically any of the great late land cruiser we didn’t get here.

Personally, I’d rather have a later Fronte SS 360 or SSS:

I do like the LC10 a lot, but the suzulights are rarer/more historically imporant.

I’d get a post-refresh JDM 4th gen Prelude with an H22, an LSD, and absolutely nothing else. No 4WS, no ABS, no airbags, no sunroof. They’re hard to find, but they’re out there and make a pretty good platform for an autocross car.

You can swap the LSA into it now. ;-) We have all the parts needed to swap it into the GTO. :-)

But I want a Gen F Maloo.
Plus I would rather LS9 the GTO
![]() 07/15/2016 at 20:20 |

Yeah, I’d love to poke around one myself. Daihatsu is an underrated company. They made some interesting contributions to the small car much like Suzuki.
![]() 07/15/2016 at 20:24 |

I want one a LS9 too and a VF Maloo! There needs to be a way for it to clear the strut tower brace. Harrop did it somehow, and I think they lowered the cradle or used a dry sump to get it to fit.
![]() 07/15/2016 at 20:27 |

Isn’t the VF a Gen-F?
![]() 07/15/2016 at 20:36 |
|
The VF has Gen 1 and Gen 2.
My 2014 SS is a VF, I haven’t heard it called a VF Gen 1. You can tell by it’s fog lights in the bumper and the polished forged 19s. The 14s have silver brakes and Brembos on front, and the 15-16 have red Brembos on all 4 corners.
The VF Gen 2s don’t have the fog lights, vents in the hood, and have different wheels.
Interestingly enough the 2014s handle better, brake better, and are faster on the road course that the 15-16s. The 15-16s were softened up for the public, and the have the mag shocks too which the 14s don’t have.

There’s a MINT LC10 Fronte on Goo- Net right now for $15k. If If I had $15k to blow and no responsibilities, I’d buy it now.
Those Fronte coupes actually pop up on this side of the Pacific occasionally; I think there are a few here in the US.

Weren’t the Suzulights one of the first hatchbacks and Suzuki’s first car?
![]() 07/15/2016 at 21:30 |
|
They were Suzuki’s first car, and they had a three door variant, but it opened to the side rather than as a hatch. Still, a pretty forward thinking design.
![]() 07/15/2016 at 21:53 |

The LC10 and the GX were sold in Europe, too, so I guess they’re not impossible to get. 15 grand sounds perfectly reasonable for a mint one. I’d totally do that as well if I had an extra 15 thousand.

Shit I need to step up my Holden game.
Oh I see, so VF is the current generation. I have only seen them as Gen-F1 and Gen-F2 so that makes sense.

That is a wicked build. Must have cost more than the car though.

That guy has some deep pockets apparently. He built up a HSV Senator prior to the GTO. Those HSV GTOs are still going for 50-65K aus.
![]() 07/16/2016 at 12:21 |
|
Holy shit!! That’s $41K usd. Dude has his priorities right for money spending though. I will give him that.
![]() 07/16/2016 at 12:55 |

We could do the build cheaper over here. It’s not hard for us to find these parts for fairly cheap. The LS9 lid would be the most expensive thing to buy (besides the blower) new for the conversion. In their build they still use the LS2 throttle body and accessory pulleys. The guys doing them over here use the CTS-V accessory pulleys and LS3 throttle bodies. This is one build with a CTS-V blower, and if he used lower motor mounts he would have been able to use the stock hood.

Or I could just get a crate LS9 for $23k.

Or buy a wrecked Vette from copart, and sell off what you don’t need to reclaim cost.

Yeah... That would be the better way around. And while I am at it, put in the electric A/C
